Uh, is this a real book?

Alright, this book is not really what I was expecting. I guess i was expecting real information? A well written book? Something worth $20? Here are few things you should know if you're thinking about purchasing it:

- It's about 100 pages with enormous sized doubled-spaced font. It's practically a pamphlet.
- Taylor doesn't seem to know the different between "your" (possessive) and "you're" (you are).
- The guy can't write. At all. I'm guessing he hasn't yet completed the eighth grade. Obviously this book wasn't edited.
- He mentions several times what the book is about in the first few pages, "all about using social media", "all about building the groundwork for a successful wedding photography business", and "how I skipped the second shooter/assistance role". So...which one is it really "all about"?
- Its completely unorganized.
- All of the info in this book can be found online.
- Oh you want to know what info this book has? Stuff like: have a blog, Facebook, & Twitter, back up your photos, and "you'll have to work on Saturdays".
- I'm pretty sure all the reviews of this book were written by the author and/or his friends. There's no way possible a real customer gave this book 5 stars, let alone six customers.

The book is a joke and complete waste of money. I should have just vomited on a twenty dollar bill instead of buying it.

The Best Wedding Photog workshop in one small book

Ok so I am fairly new to the wedding photography industry. I try to second shoot every now and then. I still have some of the fears of "what if i miss this shot" or things of that nature. After reading Taylor's book, i no longer have these. He pretty much gave me the confidence and tips i needed in about 110 pages. It is clear that he poured much time and thought into this book as he goes into detail on all of the main issues wedding photos encounter on a daily basis. I have already recommended this book to several of my friends and I will continue to recommend it to all the wedding photos i know: old & new. Thanks for all the helpful hints and tricks Taylor! The book is great!

Worth it

The info in the book is straight forward. What the author did.
Taylor explains his start in the business with suggestion for the reader to follow.
The main stay however is you got to do the leg work.
No rocket science in his methods, but they are laid out straight to the point.
Will this book make you a success? No
Will the methods work? Yes, but its gonna involve you doin some hard work

Not a master piece of literature, but a decent read and Taylor is a friendly helpful guy as well.

Excellent book if you want to use ICT to help improve environmental sustainability.

Very good book. Was looking for a book to give me ideas of how ICT can contribute to improving environmental sustainability and this one did just that.

The author does not just talk about ideas, he actually implemented them and gave the case studies to show the results.

Highly recommended reading.

Excellent set of activities!!! Many can be used with adults as well. I searched "high and low" for a leadership activities book, not only are they "few and far between", but the few that are available are for elementary and junior high students. The Student Leadership Challenge Activities Book is absolutely awesome and transferable regardless as to the leadership training curriculum being used!!! High school, undergraduate and graduate students as well as working professionals can benefit from its use in leadership development programs.

Since no student can truly understand and appreciate Western culture without some knowledge of the Bible, it is worthwhile to introduce all students to many of the Judaeo-Christian narratives which make-up a fundamental part of Western tradition and religion. The Epitome Historiae Sacrae (or Summary of Sacred History), a classic work by Charles-Fran�ois Lhomond (1727-1794), which has been in regular use for over two centuries, is here resurrected for the modern student of Latin. Its utility has been tested around the world by generations of students who have benefited from both its overview of Biblical stories and the exemplary model of Latin prose.

This IS the book you're looking for.

UPDATE: After looking around a bit on Amazon, I have discovered that the review I wrote is being displayed for very different versions of this book. My comments refer specifically to the version co-written by Luigi Miraglia and published by Focus Publishing. If the page you're looking at doesn't name that author or publisher, what I'm saying here doesn't apply.

Regarding the Focus Publishing edition:

On the off chance that this might be the updated version of the book from Focus Publishing, I decided to order it. This is the updated book. The text is large and clearly printed. All the macrons are included. And most important, copious pictures and notes--all in Latin--have been added to the margins by Luigi Miraglia (who has taken up the torch of the sorely missed Hans �rberg).

This book follows the same pattern as Lingua Latina Per Se Illustrata. Short stories in Latin are shown side-by-side with labeled pictures and clarifications of the language being used. Every word of the stories and the explanations is in Latin. If you have finished reading Familia Romana, you should be able to read this book quite easily.

My favorite supplement to the LLPSI series of books, whose introductory textbook is "Familia Romana." It is a vivid retelling of some of the most memorable stories of the Holy Bible, originally published in 1784 by a pious Frenchman. The prose is lucid and simple. The presentation is as that of other books in the so-called "nature method." That is,

New words, when impossible to assimilate otherwise, are explained either by way of ever-helpful illustrations or by straightforward marginal notes: thus, the meaning of "antecedere" is clarified through an antonym, "sequi;" that of "decipere" through a synonym, "fallere;" that of "regulus" through a descriptive phrase, "parvus rex;" that of "trabs" through an image; that of "motus" though its source word, "movere;" and so on and so forth.

Highly recommended. But read "Familia Romana" first!

These BROTHERS will make you SWOON!!!

When you start this book, you will NOT put it down. It will have you rooting for Alli and Jade so much. I laughed my butt off with this book. Alli and Jade have their funny moments , then the BROTHERS have their moments that are so funny you can't help but stop reading to laugh. I love how they all stick by each other but they can laugh and pick at each other and they all know its fine. That they are family. The chemistry that is between Jade and Allie is so great you want them to work out. Stephanie Reynolds hit another 5 stars with this book. So ready for the next one. It can ONLY get better. She's that AWESOME.

After their last mission for the CIA Jade along with all his team decided to go into business for themselves. This was a great opportunity for them all and they were all excited about the prospects. Having had al little down time from dangerous missions though they are all eager to get back into the action. When Kalil brings them a mission that will take them to Florida to bring down a drug ring Jade and his team are eager to say the least. Once they read Florida however things get complicated really quick. During a meet with the main man they are after Jade notices a woman who seems way out her element there. Later they find out that she is not just some woman but actually Jaxon’s little sister. Jade knows his team mate is going to flip once he finds out his sister is involved. To make matters more awkward Jade has an insane attraction to Alli. Things start to heat up in the sunshine state in more ways than one! Will Jade be able to complete the mission with Alli as a distraction? Will Alli realize that she is in over her head and accept her brother’s teams help? With all the corruption they uncover in this case will any one of them even make it out alive? This book is the second in the series and just as action packed as the first. A great mix of adventure, conspiracy and of course love to keep you turning the pages.

S. Reynolds has done it again!! A MUST read!!

Wow! S. Reynolds has knocked it out of the park again with Jade! This is the second book in the Special Operations Command (S.O.C) series! And it was amazing!

Jade and the guys have a new mission and so they start on it. Soon Jade meets Allie, and the back and forth bantering between the two is what makes Jade and Allie! I loved every bit of it! Allie is trying to prove to Jaxon (her brother) that she's not a little girl anymore and she can hold her own and run with the guys so to speak. And she does a perfect job of it! She's not some whiney scared girl that freaks out over everything she jumps in head first and tho she gets a little scared at times she brushes it off and holds her own and is determined that she can do this and she will do her part even though she was given a s*** hand by her ex. (Ryan)
This book, like Kalil (#1), is full of action and of course you have to have some explosives, I laughed so hard In certain places of the book!! And you will too when a certain someone gets shot in a certain place!! Also, it also has some very hot moments! If you have read book one, Kalil, thin you will love this one as well! If you haven't, well you really should . Your missing out on a wonderful series!!

The Ultimate Collection of One of America's Best!

This is your "one-stop shop" for every single one of Kate Chopin's published works. Large and cumbersome but well worth the weight, it contains all of her fantastic local color stories from her books "A Night in Acadie", "Bayou Folk", and all of her other short stories (including her very first written in childhood), plus the novels "At Fault" and "The Awakening". Most of her work was buried for years and it is difficult and expensive to get all of her wonderful creations, so this is the way to go for the ardent Chopin fan, the Chopin scholar, or anyone that just loves great American literature.(Note:it is also very uncommon to find a place that sells this!)

In the bayou

In the late 1800s, Kate Chopin set the literary world on fire with her now-classic novel "The Awakening." But that wasn't by any means the only writing Chopin did. "Complete Novels and Stories" brings together the assorted writings that Chopin did, before le scandale caused her to swear off writing forever.

Her first novel "At Fault" was apparently something of a roman a clef -- a thirtysomething Creole woman is widowed, and takes over the family estate. She falls in love with a businessman, David -- but he is divorced, and her strong Catholic beliefs don't allow her to marry a divorced man.

"Awakening" was the novel that outraged the Victorian morals and sensibilities of the time, and tragically ended Chopin's writing career. Beautiful wife and mother Edna Pontellier has it all: a wealthy husband, cute kids, beautiful house... and yet she is dissatisfied. So Edna begins dabbling in painting and extramarital flirtations, with tragic results.

"Bayou Folk" and a "Night in Acadie" are collections of short stories, centered in New Orleans and the areas of Louisiana nearby. Breakups, romance, death, marital dissatisfaction, freedom, racism and other still-touchy topics are explored in these stories, although bits of humor do intrude from time to time, such as the very short "Old Aunt Peggy," about an ancient black woman who astonishes everyone by never dying. Added on to these are a number of uncollected stories.

It takes a lot to make a book "scandalous" now, but in the late 1800s -- the height of the Victorian era -- it was painfully easy. There's nothing shocking in Chopin's writing by current standards, leaving her writing as a grave look at human nature. In that sense, Chopin's stories are truly timeless, and not just for women.

Continuing themes do run through Chopin's short stories and novels, such as freedom, social boundaries, and the restrictions put on women at the time. One particularly stunning story is "Desiree's Baby," about a young woman and her child who are cast out because the baby is not 100% white... except that her cruel husband has made a mistake.

But it's not nearly as bleak as it sounds -- Chopin's writing is tempered by her dignified, distant 19th-century writing style, and the beauty of her descriptions. ("There was the hum of bees, and the musky odor of pinks filled the air.") Those descriptions can gloss over plot events as grim as suicide.

"Complete Stories and Novels" is an excellent collection of Kate Chopin's work, and leaves one with regret that she didn't get to write even more during her brief lifetime.

Responding to reviews on "The Story of an Hour" instead of the whole book

So many people who have reviewed this anthology of Chopin's works have focused on only one story! "The Story of an Hour" is wonderful, but it's only about 2 pages in this large book. With that said, readers who are coming to Chopin for the first time should keep in mind that the protagonist's inner life is more important that anything else going on in that story. That's why there is so little about what happened before the husband supposedly dies and certainly very little after he arrives home safely. (The spoilers for the ending have already been given by earlier reviewers.) Readers can "get" a lot of it, though, just by reading very carefully. It's a "short" short story, and Chopin makes every word count. If you as a reader don't pay close attention to the words Chopin uses, you will miss the point. So, for someone who says, "I don't understand the story," I would say read it again, but more slowly this time.

The book, of course, has much more to offer than the few pages that "Hour" takes up. One of my favorites is "Desiree's Baby," where Chopin emphasizes character over plot in a story about racial prejudice. I won't tell you how it works out, though. You need to read it for yourself! Spoilers ruin the ends of stories that rely on a twist at the end.
